MY NEXT BIG ADVENTURE

Everest Basecamp Trek for 2020

Main training goals for the next year to get myself there:

Up Up Up, Dealing with heights

Daily walking distance up to
 20 km
Several Multi day treks
Cardio for Elevation challenges
Training has begun January 2019. Now to get to the details of getting it done!
Welcome to the planning page for Everest basecamp 2020, likely to take place in October which gives me 2 winters and 2 summers to train. So far I have 2 other ladies interested in going and if you are interested to please let me know and I will keep you in the loop as we make more concrete plans of which company we are travelling with, the cost and the amount of time needed for the trip.
The trek itself is located on the Peru side of Everest and for an example of the itinerary check out WHOA (a group I am considering signing up with)
Daily Itinerary
Right now (January 2019) Im beginning planning for the summer and what adventures to do. So far my dad and I have a 3-4 day Kayak trip planned in early June. Then my brother Chris, his girlfriend Caroline and my husband Nathan plan for a 3 day trek through the Skoki loop at Lake Louise in August.  I want to plan a week or two block where I have a camping "basecamp" and I go out for almost daily hikes and attempted Mountain summits in the Kananaskis, Banff/Lake Louise territory.  (currently I have no work scheduled in the summer but that could change and that would change up the plans) And as for city training: I am swimming and will be starting a elevation based swimming program to help my lungs get ready for heights and I am doing a daily push up and sit up regime with my dad. (we are starting the year with 35 push ups every day and 15 sit ups)
